With belief in the supernatural waning - and with old gods and goddesses falling out of favor entirely - worship as a source of power has reduced dramatically in recent decades. The Narrows provides a rare place where modern belief is not required to give a mythological creature their power: so long as they stay within the grasp of the mist, they are as strong as ever.
