She had found herself the very willing company of the woman she’d met several days ago. It was fairly rare for her to wander particularly far away - even now, she didn’t think she was too far off. It was a strange kind of company, but a good one regardless. Being alone for so long was a curse, she’d found, and even if her companion wasn’t one who talked very much, there was a difference between silence with someone else and silence when you were by yourself.
Doing things for another wolf was weird, too, but Lillia had surprised herself the first time she’d caught food for the woman. It was what she was doing now, actually - stalking down a marmot to bring to the silent woman. Lillia had grown up being trained to lead, but she found herself very comfortable in the role of a follower - even one who went out of their way to serve someone else.
It was weird, but not necessarily a bad weird.
And Lillia… was not even a good hunter. She had settled into a hunter’s crouch, and it probably looked like good form, but when she was about to launch herself, her back foot slipped on some loose stones and sent her flopping directly onto her belly. The marmot let out a surprised sound and bolted off into the tree line, and Lil snarled to herself.
She wasn’t hurt much - other than her pride - but there was a small cut on her back right knee. Huffing irritably to herself, the young woman licked at it, fur bristling with irritation.
