State of the Wildwood Address

Hello everyone! While it's been evident for a long time, we wanted to take this opportunity to officially state that RoW is in a soft hiatus due to the needed coding updates and lacking activity. Currently, there is no planned end-date for the hiatus as we are not able to give a timeline for the needed updates nor are staff able to dedicate time to rebuilding the member base. We are very sorry for this, and appreciate all your understanding through this period.

What does 'soft hiatus' mean?

1. RoW is not closed to writing nor new members/characters, just limited in functionality.
   
2. The updates are still being worked on, and we do still intend on implementing them once they are ready.
   
3. Activity Checks are not being ran, and characters are not beholden to activity requirements.
   
4. The quickest way to get staff assistance is through our Discord server.
   
5. Staff may reassess as activity necessitates.
   

What happened to the Yearbook?

Unfortunately, we remain unable to publish a completed yearbook covering the events of 2024 and likely will not be able to until after the site is updated. What we can share are the skins, which should now be selectable to all members, the superlative results, and some of the flair that was prepared for those who were born or passed away that year. Breeding Season 2026

By request, we will be holding an abnormal breeding season this year. Some rules are different, some will still apply.

Registration

• Registration opened on March 17th and closes at the end of March 28th.
  
• There will be no pups if you breed without registering.
  
• All litters will consist of one pup and be born 60 days from the date of the breeding thread.
  
• Age will still impact viability of litters.
  

Breeding

• Breeding threads cannot be started before March 17th, and must be completed and archived by March 29th to be eligible.
  
• Sexual assault and pornographic descriptions of breeding are 100% not allowed.
  
• While subordinates are allowed to breed on a sitewide basis this does not excuse your character from IC consequences (ie. breaking pack breeding rules).
  
• Once litters are confirmed, parents can submit pup information to Spirit of Wildwood account, including but not limited to: names, sex, fur colour, alignments, and any other information of your choosing.
  
• We strive to respect the vast spectrum of gender identity and intersex individuals while maintaining RoW's realism standards. As such, litters can only be conceived by biological pairings that could realistically conceive in real life. In other words, one parent must have 'female' listed as their sex and the other(s) must have 'male' listed as their sex.
  

Lottery Night

A lottery will only be held if we exceed 5 eligible sign-ups, see registration thread for more information.

Adoptions

• A thread with any viable litters will be posted in early April.
  
• Players may apply for multiple pups if available.
  
• Parents may pre-reserve their own pups.
  
• If pups are not activated by 2 weeks after they become playable (5 weeks after their birth date), staff will reach out to determine steps forward. The likely options will be for a parent to play the pup, a parent character to go offsite with the pup, or for the pup to die. If there is no contact back within 2 weeks of staff reaching out, for this year only, parents will be deactivated and it will be assumed that they left Relic Lore with the pup.
  

Births

• Pups will be born exactly 60 days after the breeding thread occurs this year.
  
• You may not back-date or pre-date birth threads. The day the thread is posted is the day the pups are conceived.
  
• If the birthing parent goes inactive during the month they are supposed to give birth, the other parent has until the end of the month to write a thread where the pup is 'found.'
  
• Labour may be described graphically but please mark your thread {M} accurately.
  
• Pup accounts can be made at any time, but leaders must not add them to the pack until they've been accepted to the site and properly activated.
  
• Pups are playable 3 weeks after the birth thread is posted.
